Early childhood education and care plays an important role in children’s development and provides a valuable support to families with young children. It is therefore important to understand the impact of these services and to ensure their quality and accessibility. I am aware that high quality child care can have a positive influence on children’s development and school readiness by providing valuable educational and social experiences.

I categorize high quality child care as:

  • Having well-qualified, well-paid, stable staff, low child-adult ratios, and efficient management.

  • Offering a program that covers all aspects of child development (physical, motor, emotional, social, language and cognitive development).

Research shows that high quality provision can deliver well-being and appropriate development to young children. As an increasing number of mothers are in the workforce and most children ages 2 and older now attending a child care facility on a regular basis, it has become critical that young children from all backgrounds should have access to high-quality child care and early education.

I am proud we have such a center in the Trussville community.  Not only are we striving to develop your child to his/her highest potential, we do it while giving the love and nurture that is needed in your absence.

Parents are always welcomed as we are partners in caring for your children. We invite you to share ideas, give feedback and get involved through volunteerism and participation in school events. Family potlucks, community celebrations and fundraising involvement are just a few ways in which families can contribute.

It is my sincere hope that your TCDA experience will be as rewarding to you and your family as it has been for countless other families.

Warmest regard,
